Osteopathy

Osteopathy is recognised as an effective treatment for a wide range of painful conditions. It helps to restore the normal function of the musculoskeletal system (joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments). The aim is to relieve pain and get you going as quickly as possible. Patients of all ages can benefit. The treatment is tailored to suit. All osteopaths are registered with the General Osteopathic Council.

The Practice

The practice is centrally located between Huddersfield, Wakefield, Barnsley and Sheffield.

You may contact the practice directly or via a referral from your General Practitioner. Diagnosis and treatment is by consultation only, but general enquiries by telephone are welcome.

The Treatment

Osteopathic treatment consists of gentle manipulation and stretching of muscles, ligaments and joints. Treatment is not painful and rarely uncomfortable, although some patients may experience some discomfort for a short time. As part of your treatment exercises or simple medication may also be recommended. Advice will be given on how to speed up your recovery and reduce risk of recurrence. Assessment and treatment are based on the best and most up to date medical evidence.
